Fall 2021 MILC Research Study

​In fall 2021, will you be breastfeeding? Would you like to donate your milk for research?

This fall, the MILC Research Group expects to collect milk for a research study. MILC is a research facility dedicated to learning more about what makes human milk unique, how mothers feed their children, and how to make breastfeeding easier for all mothers.

We are preparing to collect human milk for research to learn more about:
  •   The different parts of human milk 
  •   Breastfeeding and maternal & child health
  •   How moms feed their milk to their children 
  •   If different medications get into breastmilk
  •   Things that prevent or promote breastfeeding 
  •   Ways that society can support breastfeeding

Participant Requirements:
This future study is for women 18 years or older who are breastfeeding their child of any age. Breastfeeding includes both direct breastfeeding and feeding pumped breastmilk to children.

NOTE: This is milk for RESEARCH. If you would like to donate milk for premature and ill babies, our partner NorthernStar Milk Bank has a Winnipeg milk drop location. More information can be found here.
